You just unpacked your Hover Monocoque rear shock and want to do an initial setup guide? You’ve come to the right place.

  • When working on your shock always make sure you’re in a clean environment to prevent contamination of seals.
  • Make yourself familiar with the instructions. Wear protective glasses and gloves. Suspension products contain pressurized air and/or oil. Double check that you depressurized your suspension product before you work on it. When in doubt – consult us directly or the suspension mechanic of your choice.
  • Only use a suspension specific pump which is rated for up to 600 psi.
  • The max. pressure of the Hover Monocoque is 500 psi!
  • Your shock comes with pre-installed volume spacers according to the specs.

OVERVIEW

  1. Compression Adjustment: The outer dial sets lowspeed compression damping.
  2. Rebound Adjustment: The inner dial sets the low speed rebound.
  3. Air Can: Remove to install / remove Volume Spacers.
  4. Gamechanger Lockout: 3-Position Lockout Lever
  5. Air Valve: Attach shock pump to inflate the shock. Don’t exceed pressure of 500 psi.
  6. IBS: Interchangable Bridge System allows for standard metric mount or Trunnion Mount (Graphic shows both adapters).
  7. Stroke Reduction Spacer: Lift the O-Ring to install or remove stroke reduction spacers.

INSTRUCTIONS

Attach shock pump to the air valve and increase pressure in 50 PSI increments. Slowly compress the shock between increments for the negative and positive chamber to properly equalize.

Your shock comes pre-installd with volume spacers according to the specs of your shock (stroke and stroke reduction). Feel free to vary from those settings but be aware of the max. volume spacers regarding the stroke length of your shock.

Lockout: The new Lockout has 3 modes. When riding please make sure the position of the lockout lever clicks into place. Riding with the lever between the clicks can cause damage to the lockout mechanism over time.

II: GRAVEL

III: ROAD

VOLUME SPACERS

Disclaimer: Not applicable to Hover MC Light / 45mm stroke model
The Hover MC Light does not feature volume spacers!

  1. The installation is possible without removing the shock. However depending on the frame you might want to remove the shock anyways to properly reach for the air can which you will have to unscrew.
  2. Connect a shock pump and release all air.
  3. Use a rubber inner tube to grab and unscrew the Air Can anti-clockwise.
  4. Slide the air can down the piston rod.
  5. To install or remove a volume spacer clip, bend it slightly to move it on or off the piston rod.
  6. Screw air can back onto shock body.

Damping

  • Your shock is custom tuned to your rider weight and frame leverage.
  • Set both, compression and rebound adjustment to the middle of the range and adjust to your liking, we recommend changing only one parameter at a time.
  • Rotate lockout lever counter-clockwise to lock the shock for efficient uphill performance.
  • Outer dial sets the low speed compression.
  • Inner dial sets the low speed rebound.

Just in case you’re wondering – it’s normal that

… a bit of oil can exit through the air valve when releasing air.
… a bit of assembly oil can be found on the surfaces of the Hover Monocoque.
… the rebound adjustment dial has no clicks.
