Technology

Smarty’s principle is a little bit different from other wedges. The underlying physics are, that you need tension from inside to the steerer tube. You can achieve this with a central conical bolt like most other wedges are using it. Or you use a excentric conical bolt which makes a tangential tension on the expander-ring.

There is a M4 Torx20 bolt (stainless steel) and a 30° conical nut (stainless steel).

While tightening the bolt from the top, the conical elements makes a tension to the expander-element.

Now you can adjust your headset with the Intend topcap!

FAQ

Can I change the topcap at Dandy or Smarty?

The Dandy has a M6 thread and you can use the Dandy topcap and bolt with every other starnut. The Smarty has a M4 bolt, so you need to use the Smarty expander with the Smarty topcap.

Please mind to measure the inner size of your steerer before ordering the Smarty (f.e. the Intend Smarty is not compatible with our thick steerers. For this combination please choose the Blackline Smarty small).
