The Samurai SuperTR is the successor of the Samurai TR. The TR was limited to 130mm and thus limited to crosscountry and downcountry bikes. For everybody who still wants to have a superlight crosscountry bike, the Samurai XC with our new developed Energizer cartridge is the way to go.
Why now SuperTR?
We got several mails with “can I have the Samurai TR with 140mm?”. And we had to say no, because the TR was developed as a downcountry fork, and there was no possibility for more then 130mm of travel.
The SuperTR has a travel range of 140-170mm. It moves from downcountry fork to a real trail fork. You can either install it in your crosscountry bike with 140mm stroke and have a more descending orientated downcountry build, or you install it in a 150mm trail bike and have the perfect match.
If the stroke is getting longer, how about stiffness then?
The SuperTR has a new crown, a bit heavier, a bit burlier, a bit bigger, a bit stiffer. It scopes with the higher forces of the higher length. The bushing distance inside is longer to compensate the forces. The SuperTR works fine for bigger hits and higher loads, despite its super light weight of 1680g.
Another possible scenario: You weigh 53kg and all other forks like Fox34, RS Lyrik, and many more, they are too heavy at 170mm stroke, or you don’t charge so hard, you want to have a nice enduro bike, benefit from more travel, but you do not know what to do with a 2,1kg fork. Then this is your fork!
