Trinity TR
Trail brake re-imagined
A trail brake re-imagined
Please welcome our latest member, the Intend Trinity TR. In an engineering dream, there must be a lighter version of the already well known Trinity EN/DH. This is what we wanted to achieve with the Trinity TR. As lightweight as competitive 2 piston calipers, but why having lower braking power when the weight of the brake is low? If you can also have a lightweight brake with high braking power, why not go for this?
Worth to know:
– That is why we have also 4x 17mm piston, same as our EN/DH model
– Intend Trinity TR uses Avid Code style brake pads, same as the EN/DH model
– We have a rear hose length of 200cm and a front hose length of 85cm.
– We recommend using only the Putoline 2,5 mineral oil. However if in need and you don’t have the Putoline, any regular brake mineral oil like the Shimano should work.
– Everything you need for riding and to get started is included. Brake pads (4 pairs), bleeding stuff, spare-bolts.
– All necessary installation instructions can be found on the order sheet which is shipped with the brake system.
The speciality of the caliper design is to combine highest strength, highest power, best modulation with the lowest possible weight. Therefore the caliper is closed on the top, we do not use a brake pad bolt, the pads are clipped in the brake using magnetic piston inserts and we do not use a retaining spring any more. No unnecessary material surrounding the brake pad, you can watch them moving and working from outside. The result is a 82g caliper weight, with uncompromising stainless-steel pistons. Long life and problemfree pistons.
What is the preferred area of application? Of course you can use it as Cross-Country brake, because it is as lightweight as other CC brakes, but strong and powerful as a downhill brake. But what are the downsides? Of course the mass of the caliper is lower than our downhill-ready brake. And more mass means more heat capacity. If you are a heavy rider with unlimited downhill skills, maybe this brake is NOT your brake. If you are a lightweight enduro rider, you can easily use this brake for downhill. If you are cross country rider, feel free to use it for whatever you want.
