You just picked up a Trinity brake and want an initial setup guide? You’re servicing or working on your brake and you’re looking for more info? You’ve come to the right place.

General information

  1. The front brake is already filled and bled by us. Feel free to check the crisp pressure point. After removing the bleed puck it’s important to push back the pistons, before you install the brake pads. This ensures correct free stroke behavior. Use a tool with an even surface, e.g. a 6mm allen key, to ensure parallel pushback.
  2. Mind the specifications and bolt torques on the other side of this sheet.
  3. If you want to use the SRAM interface to mount your shifters and remotes, make sure to insert the interface insert into the clamp before mounting brake and grips to the bar. The direction of the SRAM interface is supposed to point inwards as shown in the graphics, otherwise your shifters / remotes are very likely to be too close to the bar ends / grips.
  4. The rear brake is not filled with mineral oil, everything you need for the bleed is included in this box.
  5. The brake fluid is Putoline HPX R 2.5W mineral oil. It’s what we developed and tested the brake with so it’s strongly recommended to use that and nothing else.
  6. We recommend to bleed the rear brake after the cable is routed through the bike frame and properly shortened. Please use a high quality cable cutter to ensure fitting tightness.
  7. Once cable is cut, install the fitting with some light hits of a rubber hammer.
  8. Proceed with Bleeding Instructions*.
  9. After the bleed with our bleed puck, make sure to push the pistons all the way back before inserting the brake pads. This ensures correct free stroke behavior.
  10. The brake levers are designed symmetrically, so changing sides e.g. for moto setup is totally fine.
  11. In order to install the brake pads, they have to be rotated into position. First, point one end into the caliper. Then rotate as shown in the graphic below. Once the brake pad bolt is tightened, mount the white o-ring on the groove of the bolt.
  12. Make sure to run in your brake pads before your first ride. We recommend a classical pattern of accelerating to around 30km/h and braking down to 3km/h. Repeat 30 times.

Bleeding instructions

  1. Remove brake pads / push pistons back
  2. Install bleed puk
  3. Open pump bleed bolt
  4. Install syringe on the pump (without syringe piston)
  5. Install syringe on the caliper
  6. Open up bleed lock bolt on the caliper
  7. Push the syringe on the caliper
  8. Pull the syringe on the caliper
  9. Repeat as often as you want. Watch out for the oil level in the syringes so you don’t pull/push air into the system
  10. Close bleed lock bolt
  11. Remove syringe from caliper
  12. Remove syringe from pump
  13. Remove excess oil

Brake Pad Install

  1. Remove the white o-ring retaining the pin
  2. Remove the safety pin
  3. Hold the brake pads vertically, slide them in the caliper and rotate as shown in the info graphic
  4. Re-install safety pin (1,5 Nm)
  5. Re-install o-ring

If you want to install third party brake pads you will have to look for brake pads with the Avid Code fit (2012-)

  1. Lever Bleed Port (M3x8): 1Nm
  2. Lever Bar Clamp (M3x12): Tighten until lever can’t be moved by hand. Max Torque: 0,5Nm on both bolts.
  3. Fitting Bolt (M3x10): 1Nm
  4. The SRAM Interface clamp is supposed to point inwards / towards the stem!
  5. Matchmaker Interface Insert
Use medium threadlocker for both matchmaker bolts!
  6. Reach Adjustment
Use 2,5mm Hex key or the included Torx10 wrench to adjust

  1. Brake Pad Bolt: 0,5Nm
  2. Bleed Lock: 1Nm. To open properly, one turn is enough. Don’t open further than 2 turns / 720°!
  3. Caliper Bleed Port (M3x8): 1Nm
  4. Caliper Mounting Bolt: Check the manual of your fork / frame for recommended torque.
  5. Banjo Bolt: 4Nm
